On July 20, 2009 the City of Issaquah approved a revised alarm ordinance which
became effective on August 03, 2009. False alarms cost the city and its citizens
thousands of dollars per year and take officers away from actual emergencies.
The ordinance also creates a Registration process, provides for biannual alarm
permit fees for residential and business alarms, and provides for fees for false alarms
to encourage all alarm users to maintain the reliability of and to properly
use their alarm equipment.
