Welcome to the City of Bonney Lake’s False Alarm Reduction Program
On February 22, 2011, the City Council adopted Ordinance 1379 which revised the Bonney Lake Municipal Code section
relating to security alarms. There were a few key changes those with alarms should be aware of. First, the annual
fee for an alarm permit decreased from $35 to $24 annually with 50% discounts available for seniors and the disabled.
Second, false alarm fines have increased to $100 per occurrence. Offenders will have an opportunity to have the first
false alarm fine waived by taking an online course. Third, the City has contracted with ATB Services to administer the
City's alarm code. This is the same firm that administers the alarm code for Pierce County, Lakewood, and many other
municipalities.
ATB will be sending permit invoices to those residents and businesses, which have already been identified as having
burglar alarm systems. Residents and businesses that have a working burglar alarm system should register their alarm
system by completing the Alarm Permit Application available online and submit it to the mailing address provided on
the form. Inquiries and questions can be directed to ATB by calling 1-877-356-7884 between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
